Is there a free update?Blasphemous II: Mea Culpa launches alongside the FREE True Torment Update. This free update includes: Expanded zones: Choir of Thorns, Sunken Cathedral and Basilica of Ancient Faces have all been reforged with new challenges to explore and conquer. New connecting zones: Quicker traversal between zones you've already explored so you can dash your way across the world faster than Sarmiento and Centella. A new challenge: The Labyrinth of Tides presents a new challenge for those ready to face it. New Game+: Totally adjustable difficulty options to upgrade your save game, from stronger enemies to deadlier spikes and lethal falls. New enemies: Cvstodia's denizens rise to face you, are you up to their challenge? Plus a host of upgrades for the Penitent One, Quality of Life improvements and new Achievements.

How long is the new content?The True Torment Update and Mea Culpa Expansion add a wealth of new content to Blasphemous II. Combined, they expand the explorable area of Blasphemous II by 40%! How long it’ll take you to complete depends on you. Players can speed through the new Mea Culpa story in 2-3 hours, or spend 6-8 hours seeing it all. True Torment content is spread throughout the base game, so how quickly you’ll find everything depends wholly on your abilities, Penitent One!

Do I need to start a new game?You do not need to start a new game to experience the Mea Culpa Expansion or the New Game Plus Update. However, players are free to start a new run or New Game Plus and experience all the new additions alongside The Penitent One’s existing journey. The choice is yours.

How does True Torment (New Game Plus) work?We're keeping this as a surprise, but True Torment (also known as New Game Plus) is a customizable and tiered experience with unlockable rewards. Once your penance is over, you will be able to upgrade it and access this new mode.
